Writing to the desk

The Kurdish Ledger is an independent publication with no contact form, no published phone number, and no postal address. Readers who wish to reach the desk do so by email, and messages are read editorially, in reading order.

Reporting an error

The most useful messages concern corrections. If you believe an entry contains a mistake, please include:

• The entry title, exactly as it appears.
• The URL of the page, if you have it.
• The passage or sentence in question, quoted or described.
• The source or basis for the correction, such as a published record, a program notice, or a document you can cite.

Corrections concerning names, dates, locations, and cited sources are reviewed first. When a change is made, the entry is updated and the correction is noted where appropriate. If the desk cannot verify a claim, the entry may remain unchanged and no reply may be sent.

What the desk does not answer

The Kurdish Ledger reports and explains. It is not an NGO and does not provide services. The desk does not answer:

• Requests for professional referrals, including legal, medical, or immigration advice.
• Requests for services of any kind, including classes, paperwork help, or translation.
• Solicitations, guest post offers, and promotional pitches.
• Requests to remove factual reporting.

Readers looking for direct assistance are encouraged to contact community organizations in their own city, which the entries on community programs describe in general terms.

A note on scope

Messages are read by editors, not by automated systems. There is no guarantee of a reply, and the desk prioritizes correction requests over general comments. Plain, complete messages with a clear subject line are easiest to act on.

Illustrative scenes composed for each entry appear throughout the site; questions about an image can be sent through the same channel, though images are not documentary evidence of the events described in an entry.
